The Further Beyond the Camera Saga.

The 'Further Beyond the Camera Saga' encompasses seven novels set at the turn of the 20th into 21st century. It is a work of fiction that slots into many sub-genres. It is romantic. It is erotic. It is full of intrigue. It is spattered with crime. It is fantasy. It is not a formulaic work. It does not have a happy ending. It ends, like life, with the death of all the characters. It is the zest for living that makes up the saga.

There is only ever one story – it just varies with the participants. This is a saga of relationships and the interaction of characters, presently in five parts. One story from the viewpoint of six characters. Each part stands alone as a novel yet each part reiterates its own peculiar point of view from another. They can read be in one huge book or serialized on an annual basis. There is scope for expansion, there is also scope for reduction.
There is romance and some steamy sex scenes, there is murder, there is intrigue, there is lust, there is violence, there is homosexuality. There are also scenes of simple everyday living.
There are no vampires and no magic but there is fantasy, sex, war, and violence. It is not written in the first person nor in the present tense. It is not young adult fiction. It is has no formula and does not fit any one genre. It will appeal to an older generation that prefer to study the words and their meanings, the characters and their relationships. What creates an ogre? How does environment affect genetics? It will appeal to those that can identify with some of the scenarios if not all of them.
The title of each part of the saga depends upon a photographic technique. Life is always far more complicated than it seems Beyond the Camera. The six degrees of separation ensure that any six people are somehow connected or influence each other and their personal pivotal point.

It echoes back to the days of World War 2, using stories gleaned from the memories and experiences of the generation that spawned the freedom of the sixties, the hedonism of the seventies, created the technological revolution of the eighties and the austerity of the nineties and the new hope of the early 21st century.

I would appreciate some reviews on Amazon after you have read them, please. Watch out for the hints of the exact era with historical, topical and musical references.

Do not assume that the whole world has moved on and kept pace with all the changes of the post-war years. The characters are not based on real lives but are drawn from a conglomeration of people I have met, characters I have read about and those I have seen on film. They are characters that only came together in the saga through a series of adventures and experiences. They help and hinder each other in a variety of ways.

The plot line for all six books is the same. It recounts a particular trauma involving the professional photographer, Elise Harper. The six books are the points of view of six of the characters that are either loosely or deeply involved in her story.

Watch out for the pivotal moment when one action of one man might have changed the whole saga and had world-wide effects.

'Book 1 - Developments' is Elise Harper's own story. From her determined attempt to seduce Richard Carradine, the story unfolds through her many affairs of the heart until she becomes the victim of a sadistic man she employs as a technician.

'Book 2 - Aberrations' details William Harper's traumatic and abused childhood, his loneliness and the salvation he found when he met Elise. It reflects on the mental torture that affected him and his eventual death.

'Book 3 - Special Effects' recounts Roxanne's life story. She is a vital component in the background of both Bryn Crawford and Richard Carradine. She also offers a certain amount of comfort to Elise's husband during her absence at the very end of his life.

'Book 4 - Negatives' discloses Demis's history discovering what it was that turned him into such an evil and sadistic character. Some shocking and unpleasant details of his transgressions are revealed in this volume. There is speculation and are hints on the truth of his parentage.

'Book 5 - Exposures' gives us Richard Carradine's larger than life character in the full. There is love and loyalty in full measure. Richard never does anything by halves. His wife is equally eager never to let him down.

'Book 6 - Enlargements' is the whole story told by Bryn Crawford in his quiet and unassuming manner. He can describe life after the deaths of Richard, Elise, Roxanne and William and hint at the six degrees of separation that brought everyone together.

'Beyond the Camera' is the condensed story in one volume.

I wanted the books published in my style, right or wrong or long-winded though it may be. I wanted neither an editor nor a marketing force to affect the text.

I hope you enjoy them.

They are my story. They are your story.

Everyone has been there and done that to a greater or lesser degree.
